A little love for: Rimmel Lipliners

IMG_1246

I am super fussy when it comes to my lipliner – it has to be the right shade to work with my fair skin, it has to last a long time, and it has to look good with or without a lipstick on top.

I have always been faithful to Mac lipliners; I love their colour range, their longevity and how smooth they are to apply. However, they ain’t always the cheapest, so sometimes it can be good to look at some cheaper options. I spotted Rimmel Exaggerate Lipliner in Addiction in a drug store in New Zealand. I fell in love right away, took it home, and used the whole thing in less than a month. It’s a mechanical pencil and super smooth, and looks so, so flattering. I have since picked up 6 more, as they were in a Boots 3 for 2 offer and were only £3.99. Gotta keep a stash.

I decided to branch out and try out some more shades; Wild Clover is a gorgeous pinky-nude, and Tiramisu is such a beautiful nude-brown. They are both traditional pencils and from the Lasting Finish Lipliner line.

Slightly darker than real life in this picture, but you get the idea.

All three shades could almost pass as Mac dupes in my opinion. Wild Clover is pretty similar to Soar, Tiramisu is the closest thing I have found for Spice, and the perfect thing to wear under Velvet Teddy. Addiction I find to be very similar to Beurre. However, I actually prefer Addiction to Beurre. In terms of a product, I find these lipliners to be totally comparable to Mac; they maybe don’t last as long, but the colours are beautiful and for the price, I’m not complaining.

Check out Rimmel’s other lipliner shades – next on my list is East End Snob, which I hear is a pretty decent dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk.

What are your favourite drugstore/high street lipliners? Please let me know in the comments.

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
