April Favourites

April Favourites Mac Stripdown Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder Maybelline Lash Sensational

I have been enamoured with so many products this month. There was a 40% off cosmetics sale at Priceline, so I picked up a few things from there, and I have fallen back in love with some products that I haven’t used for ages, so that was good too. Here are my April favourites I thought I would share with you.

L’Oreal True Match Lumi Magique Foundation

I have been lusting after the Lumi Cushion Foundation since it came out, but over here in Australia it’s A$30, which I just can’t excuse! Priceline had their 40% sale so I planned to get it, but my colour was out of stock, so I went for this instead. I can see why YouTubers rave about it so much. It’s so lovely! It gives a great finish and is so flattering and dewy. It lasted great throughout the day and was so comfortable and moisturising. I often find it hard to find a shade match in the pharmacy, but this one is pretty good. I went for shade N1. One downside is they don’t have that many shades on the darker end of the scale, and for such a huge brand like L’Oreal, in 2016, they have no excuse.

Mac Lipglass in Lust and Mac Lipliner in Stripdown

This combination has been my go-to lip look in April. I was given Lust as a gift a few Christmases ago, and never gave it a second thought, but over the last couple of months since wearing nude lipstick all the time, I thought I would give it a try. And then, Kylie Jenner released her nude glosses, and I was all over it. I haven’t decided to pick them up just yet, but this is a great alternative, and from what I can see it appears to be pretty similar to her shade Literally. Stripdown is a great nude-brown lipliner, I have been wearing it underneath Lust to give it a bit more oomph. I love the combination for daytime paired with a very simple eye.

Kevyn Aucion Sculpting Powder in Light

I have talked about this a little here, but I have recently learned that the Light shade in this product is a new release from Kevyn Aucoin, as the powder only came in one colour; Medium. It now comes in three colours; Light, Medium and Dark. I just saw it on BeautyBay and went for Light cause it seemed like the right choice! It’s great that they have developed this product for different skin tones. It’s so pigmented but it’s pretty blendable, and it lasts all day. In April, I have loved using it with my new Zoeva 110 Face Shape Brush.

Maybelline Lash Sensational

Last of my beauty favourites is Lash Sensational. I picked this up in the Priceline sale, and have been pretty much obsessed with it ever since. I hear it’s a pretty convincing dupe for Roller Lash by Benefit, but personally haven’t compared the two. I tried Roller Lash at a Benefit counter and it wasn’t for me. But I love the way that this lifts and curls my lashes, and leaves them there all day. It’s such a great mascara, for such a great price. My previous pharmacy favourite was The Falsies, also by Maybelline, but this has taken its place. Well deserved.

Mario Badescu Cetaphil

I have a couple of skincare favourites to share this month; both of which I have been using to help keep my skin as hydrated as possible, as it has been very dry and sad.

Mario Badeuscu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater

At A$10, I thought this was a bargain. It can be used as a toner, or to finish makeup by bringing the layers together, a little like Mac Fix+, or it can be used to simply refresh your skin throughout the day. I love the way this makes my face feel, and even though rose isn’t really my favourite scent, it really comes through and is quite pleasant.

Cetaphil DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion

This is great stuff. It feels very light but really packs a punch. I have been using it morning and night to try and hydrate my face as much as possible in the dry Sydney autumn weather.
